Xero is a global small business platform which includes core accounting, payroll, workforce management, expenses and projects. Xero also has an extensive ecosystem of connected apps and connections to banks and other financial institutions, helping small businesses access a range of solutions from within its open platform to help them run their business and manage their finances.

Xero provides small business owners, accountants and bookkeepers with powerful online accounting software and access to up-to-date financial data. It’s designed to make life better for small businesses, their advisors and communities. It connects businesses with their bank, their advisor, accounting tools, payment services and third-party apps, so everything is securely available at any time, on any device.

From our experiences XERO has many benefits a few to list:

  • Managing Cash Flow
  • Simple integration to other iCloud systems like TANDA, Redcat, etc…
  • Monthly/annual Forecasting for better financial management and better quarterly/monthly tax instalment planning and assessment.
  • Customised PNLs to suit your business needs and can setup multiple PNL templates.
  • Simple transaction and invoice reconciliations
  • A great support team with quick turnaround times to all your queries.

Plus much more, by far my favourite business tool and from a personal point of view I think it’s far more user friendly than MYOB.

Tanda is a cloud-based workforce management solution. Primary features include employee onboarding, rostering, time clock attendance, leave management and project management.

It allows users to create and share rosters online, via email or SMS, employees can clock-in and out of work using a 4-digit passcode. The time is updated in the timesheet and the employees are paid on the basis of timesheets. It offers integration with MYOB, Xero, Quickbooks, Google Calendar, Sage, IdealPOS, ADP, Revel Systems, Paychex and others.

From our experiences TANDA has many benefits a few to list:

  • Tanda allows users to set daily/weekly schedule budgets for individual teams and the whole organisation. Schedules are costed automatically in real-time, so changes can be made to stay within budget.
  • An unlimited number of schedule templates can be created and stored to streamline schedule creation, and staff can set their availability for users to access when planning shifts.
  • Staff are automatically notified by SMS/Email of upcoming shifts and any changes made to the schedule.
  • Data from the time clock app is used to automatically populate employee timesheets, which are compared to weekly schedules and managers are alerted to any unscheduled changes.
  • And one of the most important features is keeping employers in check with the ever changing workplace employment laws, like casual conversions, hourly rates, breaks and many more.
  • And much more.

Room for improvements:

TANDA has some glitches when it comes to clock on and off.

  • Occasionally changes don’t register immediately and sometimes end up reverting back to initial setup and or roster changes after changes have been made.
  • Real time sales feeds to TANDA is still not available if you have multiple locations.

All in all we would most definitely recommend the cloud software for anyone that’s looking at simplifying some operational processes and streamlining their systems.

Other alternatives to TANDA which has not been used by our company and or trialed are:
